At last, here we are, at the end of this paper. For my last trick, I shall peer review some of my classmates' posts.

So first on the list of two is Meghan Doherty's post on the Persona series and its design philosophies. I've never found Persona myself, but this post gave me a newfound appreciation for it. I was already somewhat aware that their crazy designs were taken from all kinds of sources, especially mythology. What I was not even remotely aware of was how much care was taken in order to make sure that the references in the Personas not only made sense but were also respectful to the original works/characters. Doing this through characters arcs. often directly paralleling their inspirations in this fashion. I originally wrote off Persona, but I wanted to thank Meghan for opening my eyes a little more to a game series I had previously had little to no interest in.

Now on to Anna McLeish's post on Candy Crush. I've never played Candy Crush, but due to it being free, cute, colourful and on phones I was already weary of it and never played. I am a gamer, and I have a hatred for predatory money-making schemes in video games that is so strong that 'vicious' may be too light a word to describe it. As such when I read this I was disgusted, but not really surprised by the ways in which Candy Crush sucks money from its unsuspecting audience, and I'm glad to see more people trying to draw attention to it. However, I was not aware of the fact that seemingly every aspect of the game from gameplay to the aesthetic seems to be purpose-built to encourage addiction. Honestly, if McLeish wrote an entire book on the subject of the evils of the game industry and its predatory behaviors, I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Now if you would like my special brief three, just ask nice for it and I'll try to get it up here.

And with that, on to my next semester.
